  3. Need to try this right away ;-) - but I can already tell I will need lots of practice to make this lovely alternative look as good as you do! hugs, HM.

  4. Thank you hair-mess, but I don't think you'll need any practice at all! It's a lovely knot for a GM too, would be great with your PdV :-)

  5. ha, ha - if you knew, how long it took me to figure out the hacking; LOL! I'm hopeless in following steps and even more in coordinating my fingers (left, right, back and forth) in front of a mirror. <3

  6. You are way too modest, your scarves always look beautifully tied. The weave knot is more straight forward than the hacking knot.. I put my timer on now! ;-)

  7. Thanks MaiTai for this - I love this knot and your video makes it look achievable at last!

  9. I love this! I was looking at your pics of this knot yesterday, wondering how to achieve it and if I would dare email you to get a "how to". And tah dah! Here it is today;-P
Thank you so much for the video, it seems so easy to achieve now . Of course it will require a lot of practice for me to get the same result...

  10. Yay! It worked! Your instructions are crystal clear, MaiTai, thank you again! (If I had the technical capability to add a smiley with a bunch of flowers I would!)

Thank you very much for your blog.
I found it by chance, and i've become a devoted to it.
You transmit a touch of living-giving, natural and simple "aristocratic" sense..

  19. Many thanks, dear ABG, you are very sweet to say so. Glad to hear you are having fun with the hacking knot. The Weave knot would work beautifully with your GMs too, good thing to have so many to play with ;-) With the GMs, you don't even need to secure the ends with a knot, the weave will stay in place without. Have fun! x

  20. Thank you mou mou. Will have a think re the 70 size!

  21. Sadly that gorgeous GP does not belong to me but to SuiteSixteen (lucky girl!) - she had reposted one of my pics in her comment so that probably confused you!

  25. Thank you for the wonderful instructions for the
weave knot. I have been wanting to earn this!
I love the idea that you actually don't have to tie
    a knot....no wrinkles!

  26. love it! thanks for the instruction

  27. You can count on that ;-). Just noticed, that you're playing around with blue already. Looks like "somebody" is anxious, lol! Can't wait to do the happy "robee dance" with you! <3, HM.

  28. Thank you for the clear, easy-to-follow video MaiTai. You inspired me to pull out a mousseline scarf that I have been neglecting, to try the knot. I am so happy... it worked and I have fallen in love with the scarf all over again!

  30. xandrah, pamella, dogbiskit, hair-mess, SMR and Manuela ~ thank you very much for your sweet comments, so nice to hear that you love the knot, and that the instructions are easy to follow :-)

xandrah, the weave is certainly 'oh-là-là' ;-)

Great to see you, dear dogbiskit. Miss you!

pamella, great point re the wrinkles, have not thought about it! It makes the weave ideal to wear a 140 Dip Dye.. the thought of ironing has so far put me off them, but now...woohoo!

hair-mess, haha, been wearing blue all week, lol! Having you counting the days with me, makes the wait more bearable, hugs!

SMR, how simply wonderful! It sometimes just takes the right knot to bring a scarf to life, and it is such a happy discovery to find the right one. Thrilled you are in love with your mousse again!

Have fun, Manuela, and please let me know how it went! :-)

  31. Dear MaiTai!
I adore your How-Tos! Thank you for the weave knot - I have tried it today and am wearing my Dance of Marvari in ash rose carree knotted in the style.
Your blog is a real inspiration - a freind of mine had birthday a week ago, I bought her a gavroche plus have printed out some of your notes on gavroches (fingers crossed - you do not mind).
It would be great if you could give a how-to on freindship knot. It's a really difficult one.I could not make it from the written guidance and the scouts drawing I found in Internet are not of great help...
    Most wonderful day to you!

  32. I so well know how you feel. When my favorite store got my kelly in fall 2008, they also offered to send her over. But I said No, I'm coming close to Christmas and will wait until then. Ahh, those must have been the longest six weeks. Sending hugs and wishing you a lovely weekend. HM

  33. Dear MaiTai

I have tried to make it and I succeeded! I will think of you every time I make the weave knot! Thank you. Have a lovely weekend.

  35. adesigna, Manuela and Scarf Addict ~ happy you enjoyed the video, many thanks for your kind comments! x

adesigna, I can imagine how beautiful the weave knot must have looked with your Marvari! Feeling honored that you have added my notes to your friend's birthday gift, please say happy Birthday from me too :-) Will put the friendship knot on my 'to do' list, it looks complicated on drawings, but is not very difficult at all.

hairmess, I would have done the same thing with the Kelly, so much more fun to make an occasion out of the arrival of a new bag. Hugs!

Dear Manuela, so happy to hear!! And most flattered as well <3

Scarf Addict, love the Puzzle design too. I bought this CW with a brique Birkin in mind, but since it did not work out, I have not worn the scarf that much. Soon I will though, as it has rather a lot of BLUE in it, yay!! ;-)

  45. I have only just discovered this blog, as a consequence of chancing upon your you-tube tutorial for the waterfall knot, which I still can't do properly (!)
But I love the snowball knot and also this weave knot. With the weave, I also vary it by tying a small tight knot at the very ends and carefully ease the fabric out and down away from the neck, so that it forms a sort of cowl neck collar, which is extremely flattering. The tiny knot can then be concealed in one of the folds. Finding this blog has been very expensive as it inspired me to splash out on my very first Hermes scarf last week. I purchased the new season's Flamingo Party in the pale pink/coral colourway. I am, though, practising the knots on older scarves.... Thank you again for this lovely blog and for so generously sharing your gorgeous styling ideas.
